"ONLINE EDUCATION WILL COMPLETELY REPLACE THE OFFLINE EDUCATION" IS IT TRUE ? 😨😱

I believe the virtual classroom cannot replace the traditional classroom but both the platform can go hand in hand with each other because online classroom on its very essence is not completely real teaching on internet is teaching in virtual reality. Does this mean that any type of education given or received on the internet is not real? Absolutely not. The teachers are real; the students are real; the materials are real; and what not real is the atmosphere the ambience.

 

No doubt online class has provided an interesting medium to students to learn from any corner of the world and if a student does not understand teaching of one teacher he/she can learn from other numerous numbers of teachers. We can even get three dimensional models of the objects online which helps us understand some science concepts easily. In any case there is an ocean of videos on every topic which the student can avail even for free on different websites. Besides these benefits the online education has got its loop holes.

 

The classroom is a sacred place it’s the most tangible place to impart education. It is the place where the teachers engage the students, encourage participation from the entire class and fuel the fire of the curiosity in the students. These interactions can't be replicated in the online class.

 

Teacher to student and student to student interactions are all vital part of the learning experience. Spontaneous and random interaction between the students and the teachers through questions help the student to be clearer with the topic being taught to them. This can’t take place over the internet or the online class.

 

Although online class gives the students an opportunity to learn but it also distracts the most. Once the lessons are done the students surf other stuff on the internet, hence the impact of learning is uncertain and not always optimum. But in the classroom it is always one to one interaction and the distractions are almost not there.

 

Most importantly the education is not only limited to the syllabus. It also includes discipline, manners, morals, and interaction with elders, friends and juniors. These traits are just not very easy with online class we all have seen this in our near past.

 

Online learning is good but it is not for all , it has some special requirements like good internet connection, devices  to surf the internet, but not every student can afford those expensive things. Moreover the blue light emitted from the devices can affect the eyes. And some students also face problem of procrastination in recorded online class where they tend to believe that there is lot of time for them to complete it so they adjourn the task and this becomes the reason for their backlogs and last hour study before exam.

 

Our main motive should be to get education. No doubt the technology has narrowed the bridge between virtual and classroom learning in the modern world. Online mode of learning can be the best choice for learning in the emergency situations like the pandemic situation we are going through but it's important that we appreciate the efforts of the teachers and the institutions who are working recklessly towards betterment of students.
